Oddfellows is a suitably named odd little place - actually that's not quite true - it's actually pretty huge! The place is split into several rooms and bars - some of which are reserved for members and others which are open to the public.

The food here is excellent - and the outside seating areas are really very original and enjoyable. The prices are a touch high - but because you're getting something a little bit different, this isn't really too much of a problem. Service is also excellent - though for the prices you would expect this.

I wouldn't really suggest making this a regular drinking haunt as it's likely to put a serious strain on your mortgage repayments - but as a one off now and again it makes for a nice and slightly quirky eating or drinking experience. Certainly worth checking out.

If you are looking for Chester's most exclusive and glamorous place to have a couple of drinks then the Oddfellows Arms has to be your bar of choice. The building itself is split into several different areas to house its clientele. There's the general bar that is luscious and oozes sheer glamour (a theme seen throughout the entire building), a private members area, a small restaurant, a fully heated outdoor area (along with Bedouin style 'tents') and a host of function rooms that are available for hire.
The setting is very very glamourous and it is no shock that the bar prices reflect this. The 3 million pound refurbishment is immediately apparent once you walk through the doors and it's no surprise that the bar itself has been used as a filming location.
In summary: Excellent service in a beautifully sumptuous setting.

We called once and wont be going back! far too expensive for whats on offer.
they spent a lot of money doing it out and your paying for it in the prices. Not for me!

I think the people above have reviewed the wrong odd fellows this pub definately hasnt had a 3 million pound investment to it as its location isnt the best as its on the way out of chester.
Maybe it once possessed the indescribable magic of the truly great pub but not anymore. Maybe it's the tatty furnishings, the wide mix of clientele, A pub that feels like a local, even though its locality was blasted off the face of the earth back in the Victorian era. We went in one sunday at tea time and was told they were closing so we had to be quick, beer was average and the staff were friendly enough even tho we were told to hurry up.
